Lusofonia Festival

Every year, over the course of one weekend, Macau’s Portuguese-speaking communities set up booths in the Carmo area of Taipa to show their talent in the areas of gastronomy, performance and handicrafts. Today, the Lusophony Festival is one of the most important popular celebrations in the Macau Special Administrative Region. And it continues to grow, not only in the number of activities, but also in terms of budget and public interest. We take a look at some of the key moments in the evolution of the Festival over the last 20 years.

This very popular Festival features the traditional music, photographs, arts and crafts, costumes, books, gastronomy and drinks of ten Portuguese-speaking communities from around the world. While getting up close and personal to these far-flung cultures, make sure you try out the Macau Grand Prix Simulator with the Guia Circuit raceway, not to mention traditional Portuguese games and great bands near the Carmo Church.
