Following The Changes in Hengqin’ 2011-2014-2017

Ox Warehouse will present the opening ceremony of 'Following The Changes in Hengqin’ 2011-2014-2017: Photography Exhibition on 3 June at 4pm at Ox Warehouse. The exhibition starts from 3 June to 16 July 2017, with free admission.

In 2011, Ox Warehouse founder Frank Lei Ioi Fan planned the first Hengqin-themed exhibition “The Disappearing Neighbouring Villages – Rediscovery of Hengqin Island Photographic Exhibition” and in 2015 he presented its sequel, “Below Laobeishan: Hengqin Today Photos and Videos Creative Exhibition”.

Seven years have passed since the first exhibition and we are now presenting our third exhibition about Hengqin. Frank Lei and his fellow Macao photographers and visual artists continue to focus on the development of this neighbouring island, documenting the drastic changes affecting its society and people’s life after the Central government launched the Overall Development Plan of Hengqin in 2009.

This third exhibition will feature seven Macao photographers, telling the story of Hengqin through their own perspectives, meanwhile, with a selection from the 2011 and 2014 exhibits. Ox Warehouse will also compile and publish The once dusty land - Images of Hengqin: 2011-2014-2017 for these periodic visual documentation.

The exhibition is organized by Ox Warehouse and sponsored Macao Foundation. The venue of the exhibition is Ox Warehouse, located at No Cruzamento entre a Avenida do Coronel Mesquita e a Avenida Almirante Lacerda, em Macau. Exhibition is open to public for free.
